C B Kindergarten Tang Soo Do

This is a fun-filled class designed specifically for this age group to introduce the youngest “ninjas” to martial arts.

Age: 5 years old

Session 1: August 30-September 27

Session 2: October 4-November 8

Session 3: November 15-December 20

This year, classes will continue after the holiday break.

Cost: $35.00.  Uniforms are $35.00.

Class day and time: Friday, 2:15-2:45

Location: Crested Butte Center For The Arts

Tiger Cubs

New students are welcome to start in any session.

Gunnison:

Age Requirements and Prerequisites – Gunnison studio: 5, 6, and younger 7 year olds.

Session 1: August 27-September 19

Session 2: September 24-October 17

Session 3: October 22-November 14

Session 4: November 19-December 19

Cost: $85.00, or $80.00 if enrolled and paid before the first class of the session.  Uniforms are $40.00.

Days: Tuesday and Thursday

Times: 3:55-4:35

Location: Gunnison Arts Center, 102 South Main St.

Crested Butte:

Age Requirements and Prerequisites – Crested Butte studio: 6 and younger 7 year olds; 5 year olds that have completed three sessions of Kindergarten Tang Soo Do.

Session 1: August 26-September 18

Session 2: September 23-October 23

Session 3: October 28-November 20

Session 4: November 25-December 18

Days: Monday and Wednesday

Times: 4:00-4:40

Location: Crested Butte Center for the Arts.

Cost: $85.00 per session, or $80.00 if enrolled and paid before the first class of the session. Uniforms are $40.00.  Please make checks payable to West Elk Martial Arts.

West Elk Martial Arts has a Children’s Tuition Assistance Program.  Children that qualify for the School District’s lunch program qualify for tuition assistance.  Please call the office for more information.

The Tiger Cubs’ philosophical emphasis is “We are at our best when helping others”.  Development of self-defense skills facilitates improved concentration, self-control, and respect.  The fun and safe environment fosters achievement, confidence and leadership.


Juniors

This is an ongoing course of study. New students may start at any time.

GunnisoN:

Days: Tuesday and Thursday

Times beginning Aug. 27: Beginners, white and orange belts 4:40-5:30

Times beginning Aug. 27: Green, red, and midnight blue belt 5:15-6:10

Location: Gunnison Arts Center; 102 South Main St.

Crested Butte:

Days and times beginning August 30.: Monday, Wednesday, 4:45-5:45; Fridays 4:00-5:00

Location: Center for the Arts beginning August 26.

Instructor: Andy Tyzzer, Certified Instructor, and Staff

Cost: Tuition is $120.00 per month. If student commits to one year of training, then tuition is $105.00 per month. New student uniforms are $40.00 including tax.   Please make checks payable to West Elk Martial Arts.

West Elk Martial Arts has a Children’s Tuition Assistance Program.  Please contact the office for more information.

Age Requirements and Prerequisites: 7 years old and older, or 6-year olds that are graduates from the Tiger Cubs class.

“We are at our best when helping others…” The philosophical emphasis for Juniors is humility, control of power, speed control and tension and relaxation. Students continue to develop confidence through goal setting and achievement. Self-discipline creates the opportunity for partner work with basic self-defense against a grab and free sparring. There is an emphasis on cultivation of character and a habit of excellence.

 


Adults

Gunnison:

Days: Tuesday and Thursday

Times: 6:10-7:20 beginning August 27.

Location: Gunnison Arts Center; 102 South Main St.

Crested Butte:

Days: Monday and Wednesday

Times:  6:00-7:15

Location: Town Hall Gym, 507 Maroon Ave.  Beginning August 26, we will be training in the CB Center For The Arts.

Instructors: Andy Tyzzer, 5th Degree Black Belt along with a Staff of Certified Instructors.

Cost: Tuition is $120.00 per month. If student commits to one year of training, then tuition is $105.00 per month. New student uniforms are $45.00 including tax.   Please make checks payable to West Elk Martial Arts.

Description: Study of the history, traditions, philosophy, discipline/respect, and technique of this traditional martial art. The purpose of this course is to develop mentally, emotionally, and physically to face life’s challenges and achieve goals. The class environment is active and supportive.
